4-Way Trailer Connector Needed to Install 7-Way and Brake Controller on a 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Question:
purchased the Tekonsha TK90160 brake controller along with the ETBC7 Installation Kit for my 2013 FJ Cruiser. Big Problem: There is no four flat wire inside the driver side rear hatch of the vehicle. There is a square Toyota connector with four wires going into it attached to the frame in the back. Do I need to splice into it? Is there a wire color reference for connecting to the trailer plug in the ETBC7?

If your 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser did not come with a factory installed 4-Way trailer connector you will need to add one before you can complete the installation of # ETBC7. To add a 4-Way you can use # 118405.
Your FJ Cruiser has separate brake lights from the turn signals so a harness with a converter is needed which is what # 118405 is.
