Why Wont Nut of Dexter Axle Spindle Come Off

Question:

i have a question about the Dexter Trailer Idler Axle w/ Idler Hubs - EZ-Lube - 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern - 60inch Long - 2,000 lbs that i purchased. I cant figure out how to remove the bolt on the end of the axle so i can put the hubs on. And the holes on the axle for mounting it to a trailer seem like there too close to the axle to get a bolt in through there, are there special bolts for mounting i can buy?

The nut at the end of the spindle on the Axle part # 20440I-EZ-60 has a tang washer that needs to be removed before the nut will thread off. If you look at the end of the axle there is a yellow piece that will need to get removed and the nut will thread off. You will want to pry up on the tabs that are around the corners of the nut with a flat screwdriver.

This axle is designed to fit a trailer that has leaf spring centers that measure 48 inches apart. If yours are at a different distance apart the hangers would need to be moved.
