How to Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer with a Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with a 2009 Chevy Duramax Long Bed
Question:
We have a 2009 Chevy Duramax Long Bed Truck with the ball in the bed to pull our Goose Neck Stock Trailer. We are going to buy a Fifth Wheel Camper and I wanted to know if there is an extension that can be hooked on to our Goose Neck Hitch to pull our Fifth Wheel Trailer.

It sounds like you will need something like the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, # AM3100. What this adapter does is allow you to pull a 5th wheel trailer that has a pin box, with a gooseneck hitch like you have in the bed of your 2009 Chevy Duramax.
To find the correct size, after backing the vehicle under the trailer, measure from the top of the ball on the truck to the base of the pin box on the trailer. This will tell you what height adapter you will need. Some of the adapters are adjustable, like the above recommended adapter. I have included a link to the 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter main page below.
