Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2012 Jeep Wrangler with Spare Tire at Rear

Hello, I am looking for a bike rack for my 2012 jeep wrangler. It has a swing out tire carrier with a 35 inch spare. can you let me know if any of your products would fit...We need to carry 2 bikes. Thank you for your time!

The first thing you need to do to determine if a bike rack would fit on your 2012 Jeep Wrangler is measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the 35 inch spare you have mounted at the rear.

A hitch mounted bike rack that has a decent amount of clearance between it's hitch pin hole and the rack is the is the hanging style Thule Hitching Post Pro bike rack part # TH934XTR. This rack has a distance of 13-1/2 inches from the center of it's hitch pin hole out to the nearest edge of the carrier. If the measurement you took was less than 13-1/2 inches this rack would fit and work well.

Otherwise a spare tire mounted bike rack like the Thule Spare Me part # TH963PRO would be a great option as well since this rack attaches directly to the rim at the back of your vehicle. I attached a review video for this product as well.

If you use the long standoff part #852-3305-001 with the long mounting bracket part #752-1425-002 you'd be good to use a tire with of up to 12-1/2 inches on the Spare Me Pro part #TH963PRO. The bracket is 5-1/2 inches long.
