Both Turn Signals Blink on MaxxTow Tow Lights # MT70097 When Tow Vehicle Signals Are On
Question:
I installed my new light kit as per video from 2007 Chevy 2500 Silverado to a 1982 CJ7. No splicing no added features, right out of the box. The problem is both lights blink at the same time from both Rand L turn signals. Brake and Night Lights seem ok but all lights are not as bright as my tow Veh. The Tow bar is connected to the tow veh. The lights are attached to the Steel back bumper. Is the Light Kit defective?

If both the left and right turn signals on your MaxxTow Tow Lights MT70097 blink when either turn signal is activated on the tow vehicle the first thing to check is the condition of both connectors.
Since the left- and right-turn signal circuits on a 4-pole are adjacent to each other (green and yellow wires), it is possible that corrosion in the connector can cause these two separate circuits to become bridged together. This condition could also explain the dim light output, since two lights rather than just the one are drawing power from each of the tow vehicle's lighting circuits.
Check for any signs of greenish or whitish discoloration on the contacts and clean or replace as needed. You can also check that the spliced wiring connections to the tow vehicle are secure.
Since the MaxxTow lights use super-efficient LEDs for illumination they should deliver fairly bright output comparable to those on your tow vehicle.
