Where Is Hole Drilled In Bed Of 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LD Short Bed For Gooseneck Hitch
Question:
What is the measurement for drilling hole in bed for a 2005 chevy silverado 1500 short box for a gooseneck
asked by: Eric B
Helpful Expert Reply:
The 4 inch hole location that is to be drilled in the bed of your 2005 Chevrolet Silverado depends on the hitch you plan to install. They vary by manufacturer, so it would be difficult to tell you just one location until you choose the hitch you want to install.
For example, if you are interested in the Curt Gooseneck Hitch, part # C630-652, The center of the 4 inch hole will be 44 1/16 inches from the back edge of the bed. You would need to hook a tape measure on the end of the bed closest to the tailgate to measure. If you have a bed liner installed you will need to consider that as well.
For the Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 9465-54 the distance is 44-3/4 inches. For B&W Hitch, part # BWGNRK1059, the distance is 44-1/4 inches.
The gooseneck hitch # 9465-45 you referenced is not a fit for your 1500. It is designed for 3500 only.
