Disc Brake Kit for 2010 Magic Tilt Tandem Axle Trailer

Question:

Hi, I was looking at K2HR35DS for my 2010 Magic Tilt TXP2460B2 F78X14C tandem trailer brake swap-out but wasnt sure what size bearings kit Ill need. Wheels are 5 on 4-1/2. A local shop suggested I stick with UFP brakes and suggested Kodiak brake parts will not fit. Any comments?

The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR35DS that you referenced will fit a # 84 spindle and requires inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649. The kit includes the races but does NOT include the bearings or seal, but we offer these separately as part # BK2-100. Any new brake kit must use the same bearings as those on the trailer.

We do not carry UFP brand brakes so I cannot offer comment about their suitability, but as long as your trailer uses the same bearings and bolt pattern as the Kodiak kit, and as long as its axle capacity matches this 3500-lb-rated disc brake kit, it should work just fine. This brake kit works with wheels of 13-inches and up and requires a 4-bolt brake flange. Please refer to the linked video for more on this Kodiak kit and to the linked article for information about adding disc brakes to a trailer.
