Replacement Surge Brake Coupler For a EZ Loader Boat Trailer With Disc Brakes and Obsolete A-50 Coup
Question:
I have an EZ loader trailer vin 1ZEAAMPK06A027893. I need the actuator part for the surge brakes that I am converting to the KOD49FR oil bath. Do you have a recommendation for the surge brake actuator that I need or do I need to take it out and get a part number and get the equivalent part for disc brakes? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the pictures of your coupler. You are going to need to replace your entire surge actuator coupler as the A-50 is obsolete and we do not have any parts to repair it. We have the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator # DX73FR which you can have welded in place of your current actuator. Or we do have the Dexter DX7.5L A-60XL Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout # DX43FR which would be a better option since it will prevent the brakes from being activated when you drive in reverse. This electrical will require you to change your 4-way to a 5-Way # HM37918 or you can wire it to a 7-Way # A7WCB since I see you are already using an adapter.
