Recommended Disc Brake Kit for a 2004 EZ-Loader with Tandem Dexter Axles
Question:
I have a 2004 ez-loader trailer with tandem dexter axles. Currently have 10 x 2 1/4inch drum brakes but would like to convert to disc. Only saltwater use so would like to have stainless if possible. Current hub cast #8-247, 5bolts on 4 1/2. Can you help with some recommendation ?

Adding a disc brake system will be a great addition to your 2004 EZ-Loader boat trailer with tandem axles. The parts you will need for this are a disc brake kit and a hydraulic disc brake actuator.
I recommend the Kodiak disc brake kit # K2HR35DS because it will have stainless steel calipers and 2 corrosion resistant dacromet plated hub and rotor assemblies. Another option for you to look at is the Kodiak disc brake assembly # K1HR35S as it includes a single stainless steel rotor, stainless steel caliper and stainless steel mounting bracket hardware. The hub is galvanized.
The bearing kit you need is # BK2-100. The kit includes one inner bearing and race, one outer bearing and race, grease seal, cotter pin and tang washer.
The brake actuator I recommend is the Dexter # 099-175-20. The capacity is 7,500 pounds. It features an electric reverse lockout so you can back up without engaging the trailer brakes.
I have included a couple helpful articles and video for you as well.
