Hitch and Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2006 Ford Van Freestar
Question:
I have to travel about 550 miles to get a large refrigerator and a large dinning table with six chairs. Will the hitch you showed on the video work for that much weight and miles? and will the wire you also have picture work on my van?

For your 2006 Ford Freestar I would recommend a Class III hitch like the part # C13587 as it would have more than enough capacity which would be useful for the towing you plan to do.
The # C13587 has a 350 lb tongue weight and 3,500 lb total trailer weight rating. As long as the weight of everything you plan to tow plus the weight of the trailer is less than that you should be good to go. Class III hitches also allow more flexibility for future hitch accessories like bike racks and cargo carrier.
For trailer wiring you would want the Tow Ready Harness part # C56673.
Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
