Will Curt Safety Chains/Cables Hold Up Well to Salt Spray for Snowmobile Trailer

Will these cables hold up on a snowmobile trailer application? The salt spray is really ruff on trailers and parts.

Curt safety cables # C80176 would do fairly well for applications subjected to salt spray since the cables are coated in nylon and the hooks are zinc-coated. They wouldn't be as good as 100% stainless steel, if anyone made any, but they also cost a fraction of the price stainless would!

We have some 40 inch cables from Dutton-Lainson #DL20119. These are the shortest safety cables that we have. We do have shorter safety chains; the shortest is #2118-605-04 at 27 inches. I have linked the safety chains and cables for you.

Yes, it is perfectly fine to use a bolt to attach the safety chains of your trailer. I would recommend taking the chains to your local hardware store and getting the largest diameter Grade 8 bolt that will fit into the chain links.
