For your 2004 Ford F-350 I recommend the stock shocks and then using suspension enhancement (helper springs) for support and to increase the life of the factory suspension. If you just got different shocks they could still get fatigued over time and you would be back to replacing them. But helper springs are not going to wear out like that.

Even if you decide to go with upgraded shocks I still recommend adding helper springs to protect that investment.

For example you could use Timbren springs # TFR350SDE. These springs are rated for 8,600 pounds, much more than the pin weight of your trailer, they have a limited lifetime warranty, and they mount to the bottoms of the truck frame rails so they would not interfere with a 5th wheel hitch's brackets. I have included a link to our informational article on Timbren springs for you.
