Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2014 Volkswagen Golf TDI
Question:
I have a 2014 VW Golf TDI. I need to find the right trailer harness for it. In addition, I need installation advise. Specifically, how does one gain access to the wires in the trunk/hatch area...without butchering the new car. Thanks!

The wiring harness you would need for your 2014 Volkswagen Golf TDI would be the Tow Ready wiring harness part # 119250KIT. This is a universal install harness that will require you to tap into the turn signal wiring to install and will require you to run a wire up to the vehicle battery.
I attached an install video and a help article that details how to find the best way to route the power wire up to the battery.
To access the taillight wiring you will need to remove the interior panels of your vehicle carefully so that the wiring is revealed. The panels are designed to be removed if needed so you would not have to cut or permanently damage anything to access the wiring.
