Timbren Helper Spring Option for 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Thats Been Lowered by 2 Inches
Question:
Okay, so I used 2inch shackles to lower the back of my truck a little, being that this part is a replacement for the factory bump stops, will it still be able to handle the weight limit load for this truck or will it strain or break these spring replacements, because the truck is already 2inch lower? or should I look for air springs? I only haul loads once in a great while, but when I do, I would like to make sure that these spring will hold up. Thanks in advance.

When installed on a vehicle with a standard, unaltered suspension, the bottom of the Timbren Aeon spring will sit about 1/2 to 1-1/2 inches above the axle when the vehicle is unloaded.
Because your vehicle has been lowered by two inches, the bottom of the springs will always be in contact with the axle. Timbren tells me that this will work, but you'll experience a rather poor ride.
If you can provide me with the current distance between the top of the axle and the underside of the frame member when the truck is unloaded, my Timbren representative can recommend a spring that will provide that desired 1/2 to 1-1/2 inch clearance.
I checked with Firestone and Air Lift, and they don't offer anything for a vehicle that's been lowed by 2 inches, so the Timbren option would be your best bet. If you would care to reply with that measurement, I'd be happy to make a recommendation for you.
