Hitch Recommendation for a 1997 Oldsmobile 88 for Towing

Question:

I have a 1997 Olds 88 LS. I am looking for a reliable, frame mounted hitch. Suitable for towing trailers of which the Olds is capable, without straining or overtaxing the engine. The car would also need the trailer wiring connection. How much to buy, and have installed?

For a hitch confirmed to fit your 1997 Oldsmobile 88 you would want the Draw Tite Hitch part # 36211. This hitch will attach to the frame of your vehicle and has towing capacities of 3,500 lbs total trailer weight and 300 lbs tongue weight. You will need to check the owners manual of your vehicle to determine the capacity for the vehicle and be sure not to exceed this figure.

To complete your towing setup you may also be interested in the following products.

Class II Drawbar 3-1/8" Rise # 36061
1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball part # 19257
2 inch Hitch Ball part # 19258
Draw Tite Trailer Wiring part # 18252 (install video attached)

Prices are all available at the links below. Install price will vary based on the shop you use to have the products installed. I would recommend calling a few places to get some quotes first.
