Video Transcript for Review of ASA Electronics RV Air Conditioners - Advent Air White Low Profile System - ASA49YR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Advent Air white low profile 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner system. Now, this low profile air conditioner unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new air conditioner to your RV or camper. This system is going to include this air distribution box with a built in thermostat, and it's also going to include a start capacitor and an electric heat strip. Now, the low profile design of this air conditioner is going to minimize wind resistance to help improve your fuel efficiency, and also it's gonna give you a little bit more overhead clearance. Now, this 13,500 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to quickly and efficiently cool down the inside of your RV or camper.

And this is going to be compatible with your ducted system or ductless system. And this is going to be a bolt-on installation with the included hardware that hopefully you can see there on that corner of my table. So this is gonna be great for your motor homes, your travel trailers, your fifth wheels. However, I do wanna make you aware of the fact that this is not approved for use on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles, just so you're aware of that. This air conditioner is going to fit roofs from two and 1/2 inches to five inches thick with an opening size of 14 and 1/4 inches long and 14 and 1/4 inches wide.

And let's go over some measurements of this unit itself just so you have a good idea of the size. Measuring the length from the front to the back, we're sitting at about 31 inches long. The height from top to bottom, we're sitting at about 10 and 1/8 inches tall. And then the width, we are sitting right at about 24 and 15/16 inches wide. And the unit itself weighs a little under 70 pounds.

Now, I'm gonna go ahead and take off this cover. I went ahead and removed the screws just to kinda make it a little bit quicker and easier to remove the cover. And I wanna give you a view of the inside of the unit. So you have a little bit of a view there from that angle, but I wanna give you a better view. I've given you an overhead look.

So this air conditioner features a fan blade with a three speed motor that's going to give you ample airflow at 500 cubic feet per minute. This air conditioner also features a condensation dispersion system, which is going to increase the cooling efficiency of this unit by managing moisture to prevent water runoff. Now, this cover is a really nice solid piece of plastic. I have dealt with other different brands of air conditioners, RV air conditioners in the past, and I will have to say that I'm pretty impressed with Advent Air's cover. It's a thick piece of plastic. Sometimes other brands can have covers that are a little more on the thin side or the flimsy side, and it doesn't feel all that durable. I don't think that's the case with this one from Advent Air. It feels like it's a solid piece of plastic. I think it's gonna very durable, and it's going to be very easy to remove and replace. You saw how easy it was to remove. You just need to loosen and remove the screws that hold it in place. You just need a Phillips head screwdriver, and then you can easily pop this off, do some maintenance, do some cleaning, and then when you're done, just pop it right back on. It has a really nice tight secure fit. Replace the screws, and you will be good to go. So this is gonna do a great job of protecting those internal components from water and other debris. Now, at the bottom of this unit, or the frame of this unit, is constructed of a rigid metal frame here at the bottom. And you're not gonna be able to see it from that vantage point unfortunately, but this unit does feature thick foam support pads that's gonna give you support between the roof of your RV and the air conditioner itself. And then a gasket seals the opening to prevent water seepage and air leaks, and those foam pads are going to help reduce noise. Now, let me give you a closer view of this side of my table just to kinda go over the additional components that's included with this system. So we have our air distribution box with adjustable registers here at the top and the bottom. And it's probably gonna be kind of hard for you to see, but we have a register here and then a register here, and these are going to be fully adjustable. And then also our air filter is here. That's going to be very easy to just remove this cover and then take that filter out to easily clean it so you're not gonna have to worry about dust or dirt buildup on the fan blades. And then our built-in thermostat controls, they're gonna control the fan. So you got low fan, medium fan, high fan, and then your cool settings, low, medium, and high cool, and then heat when you install the electric heat strip, and then you can control just how cold you want it. So you have all those controls available to you through those knobs. And the internal components are constructed of aluminum, so they are gonna be corrosion proof, rust proof. And just to give you an idea of the size of our air distribution box, we are sitting at about 22 and 1/2 inches long and 22 and 1/2 inches wide, just to kinda give you an idea of the size. And this is about three and 1/2 inches thick. And I have this sitting on blocks here, but let me see if I can just give you a quick view of the other sides here without knocking some things down. So that kinda gives you an idea there. And then let me see if I can turn this around real quick just to give you a view of the side that's gonna go actually into the ceiling of your camper. So hopefully that kinda gives you a good overview of this air distribution box. And then let me just set this back up. Hopefully it won't fall here. And it looks like we are good. So let me go over the additional components that's included with this system. Of course, this features a start capacitor. Let me bring this a little bit closer up for you. And as you no doubt know, this start capacitor is going to jumpstart your air conditioner when a campsite or a generator doesn't give you just enough power to get your air conditioner going. And then this is going to store energy that will later be used for the next startup. So this will install inside of your air conditioner unit, and it's gonna be a very simple install. It does include hardware. And then the electric heat strip is going to take the chill out of your RV or camper on those cold frosty mornings. This has a rating of 5,500 BTUs per hour. And this, again, is gonna be a very easy install in the air conditioner unit. It's going to be a plug and play insulation with this 30 inch power cord. And again, you'll be able to kick that on here at the thermostat with the control here. Just move that over to the optional heat setting there on those controls. This is UL and CUL certified. And again, this obviously has the white cover, but we do also have this exact same system with a black cover. And if the 13,500 BTUs is not gonna be enough for you, we also carry air conditioner units from Advent Air in a 15,000 BTU option as well. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
