Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2013 Honda Odyssey Pulling Fully Loaded Trailer with a UTV

Question:

I have a 2013 Honda Odyssey that Im planning to haul a trailer with. Trailer weight is around 1,200lbs and my UTV is around another 1,400lbs. This doesnt include any gear that I may be carrying. Total package approximately 3,000lbs fully loaded. Do you have a suggestion for which trailer hitch would best suit my needs.

The trailer hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite Class III # 75270 and it will have a maximum tongue weight of 350 pounds and gross trailer weight of 3,500 pounds. The wiring you need is # 118521, and ball mount kit I recommend is # EBMK4 which will include an interchangeable ball set, ball mount with 2-3/4 inch rise or 4-inch drop, pin and clip and a storage bag.

With that said though, you will not want to exceed the 350 pound tongue weight because it could bend the hitch and potentially cause damage to your Odyssey. I included a great article about determining tongue weight for you too.

When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.

I included a installation video and helpful articles for you too.
