Fifth Wheel Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2011 GMC Sierra
Question:
I am planning on installing a superglide fifth wheel hitch in my 2011 2500 Denali HD. My question is the truck has the UY2 wiring provision for fifth wheel, from what I understand from online forums is the harness is to short to reach the preferred mounting position in the back drivers side. Do you have any experience with this factory harness? Is there a plug on the end of the harness? Do you sell a short pigtail plug to splice in if the harness does not have a plug, and can that be attached to the bed? Would it be just as easy to install the Bargman harness and attach it to the existing bumper plug? Thanks

The easiest solution I can provide for you would be to use the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long # C56000. Your current harness is going to be too short to be ideal like you have determined so this would work well for you as it will allow you to install the connector exactly where you want it.
