Will Hatch Still Open on 2011 Acura MDX When Using The Yakima EXO Enclosed Cargo Carrier Y62VR

interested in Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier Y62VR. I have a 2011 acura mdx with 1 1/4inch hitch. Will this carrier allow the hatch to open? Thanks,

The Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier # Y62VR was designed to work with 2", Class III and class IV hitches only. Since you said that the hitch on your 2011 Acura MDX has a 1-1/4" opening, the Yakima # Y62VR will not work.

With your 1-1/4" hitch, you can use a traditional cargo carrier like the 20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches - Steel - 300 lbs # 63155. I have attached a video of this carrier for you to check out and see if it would work.
