Lights And Accessories for Using Curt # C18153 Cargo Carrier on 2014 Chevy Suburban

Question:

I have a 2014 Chevy Suburban LTZ and I want to order a Folding 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2inch Hitches, but I have a couple of questions Id like answered before I place my order. 1. Do I need to order the 63232 Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2inch Hitches - 2-5/8inch Span, or the SHP2040-XL 3-1/2inch Span lock? 2. Did your OEM extend the wiring harness for the 98174LED Tail Light Kit? If not, should I also order an extension pigtail so that the harness reaches the Suburban trailer plug? 3. I understand Ill need to order the Trailer Light Mounting Bracket BK70BB in order to install the 98174LED Tail Light Kit. Does the C18153 Cargo Carrier require any modifications i.e., drilling holes in the Cargo Carrier frame, or does the Cargo Carrier allow me to mount the bracket without making modifications to the carrier frame? 4. Please confirm that I will need 4 x 101131802 Hex Screw - Self Drilling Unslotted Washer Head #8 x 1/2inch screws.

The only difference between the two anti-rattle hitch locks you referenced is that the # 63232 is for 2 inch receivers and the # SHP2040-XL is for 2-1/2 inch receivers. Since your Suburban has the 2 inch receiver, you'd need the # 63232.

If the 4 pole on your Suburban is fixed in place on the bumper, I'd recommend the # 9653P extension.

The Curt # C18151 you're referring to isn't specifically designed for a light kit, so they're aren't any pre-drilled holes on the carrier to mount a taillight kit. You would indeed need to use brackets like the # BK70BB you mentioned. Self tapping screws like # 101131802 would work well. Each bracket has holes for two fasteners, so you'll need 4 screws.

I've linked you to some product demonstration videos that you might find helpful.
