Will the air tube hold air for an extended period of time or does it leak off rapidly and require more refills as you travel down the road.

The airline and more specifically the valve on the Trailair pin box # LC155943 is a Schrader valve. This is the same type of valve used in the valve stems on your tires. Air will not leak out rapidly. Changes in temperature can affect the pressure in the air bag just like it does with vehicle tires but only by a few psi.
