Hitch Recommendation for a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis
Question:
What does this mean? Models with dual exhaust require exhaust modification I have a 2010 Grand Marquis and want to install a 2inch class 3 hitch. Looking at DrawTite 41116

If you have dual exhaust on your 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis you will need to make a slight modification to your exhaust hanger to install the Draw Tite hitch part # 4116.
In order to clear the exhaust, the hanger will need to be bent to avoid contact with the hitch once it is installed. This is a pretty simple process, which should not require a trip to the muffler shop or any major modifications. I have linked you to an FAQ article that explains how to manipulate the muffler hangers to move the muffler further away from the hitch.
If you should need the 4 pole trailer connector for trailer lighting, we offer the 4 Pole Harness # C59496. This kit offers everything necessary for installing the wiring harness, including a circuit tester for verifying your connections. I will include a link to the wiring harness, which can be found below.
If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included to the right that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
