We haven't had the chance to install the Brake Controller install kit part # ETBC7 in a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe so I don't have an exact location I can recommend for drilling the hole in the fire wall, but I can give you some guidance.
Basically you will need to find a location that you can access reasonably on the vehicle interior side of the firewall and the side under the hood of your vehicle to drill the hole. Since it can be somewhat difficult to be certain you have found the same location on both sides you will want to use reference points that are visible on both sides of the firewall. Other holes that are run through the firewall or the brake and/or accelerator pedal can be used for this as well.
