Recommended Tire Snow Chains for a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Driving in Moderate to Heavy Snow

Question:

What is your take on putting snow tires or chains on my Jeep model? Seems to be varying opinions. I drive in moderate snow here in Colorado, but I drive to ski which could take me into 10+ inches at times. Thanks for any feedback!

I think adding snow chains are a nice addition, especially when you are heading skiing and potentially deep snow at times. But snow tires will be the superior option for snow. This is because snow tires dig down right through the snow to make contact with ground.

I recommend the Pewag tire chains # PWE2228SC because of the square links. These provide excellent traction in snow, ice and mud. Just what your Jeep likes. These have a reversible design so you can wear on either side which will prolong the life of the snow chains.

The Pewag tire chains # PWE2228SC fits tire sizes of 15-20 inches. For exact tire sizes please view the bottom of the product page.

The Pewag Brenta # PWXMR82V you referenced will still have great traction in snow but far more grip on ice but not more so than square link chains.

Please consult your individual state or province department of motor vehicles for the most up-to-date snow chain laws. I'd also recommend checking your owner's manual to see if Jeep has any recommendations/advice/prohibitions about show chains.

I have included a few FAQ's and installation video for you to look at.
