You will be able to stock everything you need to ensure a memorable and delicious trip. The adjustable shelves and door compartments allow you to customize the space to fit your family's needs, keeping your most used items front and center. The dual crisper drawers with adjustable humidity controls keep your perishables fresh and organized, and the freezer has 2 drawers inside as well to keep everything in order. Both fridge and freezer controls are located on the operational guidance display at the top of the refrigerator section that illuminates whenever the French doors are open.

RV Fridge Replacement

It doesn't matter if you are replacing your non-working refrigerator or are just ready for an upgrade for your RV kitchen, you have a few things to consider before making that purchase. Most original RV refrigerators use propane for absorption cooling, while this Everchill model uses 12V DC hooked to your RV's battery. Absorption refrigerators can be hard to fix, don't have a dedicated defrost cycle, and take a long time to cool down, but they run on propane which is great when you don't have electricity.

The 12V refrigerators require little maintenance, most have an auto defrost cycle, and they can cool in as little as 1 hour. They're also safer because they use a compressor instead of propane, which allows it to cool down 4 times faster while avoiding safety risks associated with propane such as fires, gas leaks, and explosions. The downside is that you must have the proper battery bank or invest in solar. If you don't, you could drain your batteries in as little as 1 night of dry camping.

I have had the unit now for about a week. It has been running in an 88 degree environment, and has, so far, been flawless. I have a temperature monitor in it, and the reported temperature matches the temperature on the digital display in the refrigerator for both the freezer and fridge sections.

I also have a power meter on it, as I wanted to know how many watts it pulls max, and steady state. It seems to run at 2 different speeds, with one speed taking about 60w and the other taking about 100w-105w. The most I have ever seen it pull was 131w on the initial chill, and that was a spike, not continuous. Even in 88 degrees, it does shut off too.

We are getting ready for the first trip with it, and it does not have any door latch mechanism other than the default magnet closure, which is fairly strong. We will see if it gets docked a star or not after the trip if the doors come open.

After a year, I would still say the unit is Excellent. I dont even plug the camper in at home anymore. It just runs on solar 24x7 between trips now

Replaced the factory dometic refrigerator with the 12 volt everchill. Wished the camper I have would've had this in it new. Looks and works great. More room in fridge and freezer than the domestic. Would recommend to anyone.

Still working as it should. Im so glad I made the decision to go with everchill.

by:

Refrig looks great, works, great and etrailer even was able to ship it out earlier than expected!

by:

This is a very poorly design 12 volt refrigerator. I only ordered it because I'm selling my 5th wheel trailer. You should demand better from China

by:

Great!! It came packaged great nonissues with anything fast delivery also.

by:

The refrigerator is working well. Had some problems originally because I used too small wires to connect the refrigerator. I am using the refrigerator in an off grid cabin with solar power and adequate batteries to ensure continuous operation. The refrigerator uses approximately 150 amp hours per day depending on the ambient temperature and how often you open the door and for how long etc. Your results may vary.

so far so good

Can we put this in our slide out?

Etrailer Expert

Heather A.

8/25/2022

You can put the Everchill refrigerator in your slide out. The biggest reason that people have issues with their refrigerator in a slide out is lack of ventilation so the fridge overheats. This Everchill fridge does not require external vents however it does require 1-2" of clearance behind the fridge for ventilation. One of the other things to take into consideration is how old the moving components of your slide out are. Sometimes adding the extra weight to the slide out can put strain on the motors. This particular fridge weighs around 195 lbs. Slide out technology has improved over time so you may be ok if your RV is newer.

  • Troubleshooting An EverChill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer Drawer # WAY44FR That Isn't properly Cooling
If your Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer Drawer # WAY44FR isn't cooling to your settings then it likely has a clog in the condensation drain line and is essentially choking. It could also be that you don't have enough clearance behind it for it to breathe and properly operate. I recommend pulling the fridge out and checking the drain line at the back of the unit behind the wire gate to see if it's clogged up and freezing. I would also leave it pulled forward to see if extra room to...

  • What Does DF Code of Everchill Refrigerator Indicate

  • Does Everchill RV Refrigerator WAY44FR Need Venting to Outside
Outside ventilation isn't necessary, so you can honestly do either - leave the external vent covers or block them off when using the Everchill fridge you asked about, which is the following part number: - Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer Drawer - 16 Cu Ft - 12V - Stainless Steel # WAY44FR You will need some ventilation though, which is just 1 inch of space both behind and to the sides of the Everchill # WAY44FR. So long as you have that, you don't need to have more ventilation to...

While I was unable to confirm the exact dimensions of the Norcold 1200LRIM, I think your current refrigerator to be 63-1/4 inches tall, 32-11/16 inches wide, and 24 inches deep. Please confirm this. The Everchill RV refrigerator with freezer drawer at 17 Cu Ft, 12Volt in stainless steel, # WAY44FR that you reference has an overall dimensions of 28-1/2" wide x 67-3/4" tall x 28-1/2" deep. For the Everchill # WAY44FR, the door thickness will be 3" and the wall thickness is 1-1/2". Power consumption on the fridge will vary depending on how often it is opened and what settings it is set at, but my contact at Way Interglobal (who supply this unit) says that the average consumption will be about 72w per hour. That means you're going to use roughly 1700w of power on your fridge each day. If you haven't decided on a solar power system, you're definitely going to need a fairly...

Without knowing the exact amount of amp hours your battery bank has I can't give you a definitive answer on how long the batteries will last. The Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer Drawer - 17 Cu Ft - 12V - Stainless Steel Item # WAY44FR dimensions are 28-1/2" wide x 67-3/4" tall x 28-1/2" deep. You'll need at least 1" of clearance on the side and 1-2" of space behind the fridge to allow it to vent. So you would want an opening that's 30-1/2" wide x 68" tall x 30-1/2" deep.

  • Troubleshooting An Everchill RV Refrigerator That Isn't Cooling
If your Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer Drawer # WAY44FR was cooling and suddenly stopped then you likely have a drain line issue. In the back of the fridge there should be a drain line that allows condensation to drip out into a small pan and evaporate. These lines get clogged up and then the water freezes and essentially chokes the fridge. When you wire two 6v batteries in series you are combining the voltage to get 12v but the amp hours stay the same so you're only getting 225amp hours out of both batteries. I recommend using a 12v battery instead of two 6v batteries to start. Then depending on the what all is drawing power in your RV I would recommend multiple batteries.
