Video Transcript for Lippert Components RV Awnings LC715124 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Solera Smart Arm Infrared Security Sensor. This is part number LC715124. This is an add on accessory for your Solera Smart Arm Assembly, which is sold separately. The main benefit to this kit is that it allows your awning lights to be automatically triggered when they sense a heat source moving around during no light conditions, or when you have your awning lights turned off. This just adds an extra security and peace of mind while you're asleep. That way, if anything is moving around outside your RV, the lights will come on letting you know ,and hopefully scaring whatever it is away.It installs easily on your Solera Arm Assembly.

You just have to remove a cover on the touch control pad and snap this up into place. It does have a little piece of double-sided tape on the back. You just removed that backing, and give it some extra hold there. Now to operate this, again, you will have to press and hold the light button on your Solera Smart Arm Assembly. That will switch the sensor on.

To turn it off, same thing.Press and hold that light button for a few seconds. The sensor range is approximately 8' out, and 180 degree radius from its mounting location. It does come with some nice instructions here, with pictures, so that you could know exactly what you're doing to get this installed. There's no cutting or splicing. Again, it just snaps right into place on your Solera Smart Arm Assembly.

That's going to do it for our look at the Solera Smart Arm Assembly Infrared Security Sensor.

  • Can Wind Sensor be Added to Solera 18V Battery Powered Awning
In order to use the Solera Smart Arm Wind Sensor Kit # LC715123 you will need to be using the Smart Arm assembly which comes in different sizes and colors (listed below). This kit is not compatible with the Solera 18V Power RV Awning # LC730523 that you referenced so if you haven't purchased or installed the 18V kit yet then I recommend going to the Smart Arm system. The Smart Arm system does use 12V power and doesn't include a battery like what comes with the 18V kit so you'll want to...

  • Recommendation for Complete Replacement of 20 Sunchaser Awning
While we do not carry the Sunchaser awning brand, we do have some great replacement options. For a complete replacement for your 20' Sunchaser Awning 834AW20.401, I recommend the Solera 18v Awning - 20' # LC730523 (white fade) or # LC729517 (black fade). In order to complete the installation, you also need the awning rail # LC715216. We also carry the 12v XL 20' # LCV000334969-362243. This awning comes with an extra-long projection of 116 Inches compared to the 96 inches of the regular...

  • Determining Correct Manual Crank To Power Awning Conversion Kit For Awning On 2006 Weekend Warrior
Depending on which brand awning your 2006 Weekend Warrior has there may be a conversion kit to make it electric. For example if your awning is a Solera you can use the Solera Manual Crank Style to Power Awning Conversion Kit # LC337728 to convert it to electric. If you can tell me what brand awning you have I would be happy to see if there is a conversion kit made. I have also included a link to all of our awning conversion kits for you to take a look at.

  • Complete Replacement Awning for 2015 Keystone Cougar XLite 28SGS
The full kits we sell like the # LC56AF you looked at start at 11' wide. You could use this or the black version # LCV000334909-362243 if you have the space and would like the XL awning with the 9'8" projection. These arms require 78" of space on the wall from the awning rail straight down for each bracket. It also requires at least 4-1/2" of clearance between the awning rail and the top of your entry door. If you also need to replace the awning rail extrusion you can use # LC715216 or...

  • Which Powered Arm Conversion Kit Can Be Used with A.E. Manual Awning
Yes; the only difference between the Solera Smart Arm # LC759517 and # LC759405 is going to be the color of the arms. You can use either one of these to upgrade your existing A.E. manual awning but you can also use the Solera 12v Power Awning Conversion kit # LC434724 which does not have the "Smart" features available to add on, but still provides you with a powered awning conversion kit. The difference between the two systems is that the Smart Arm kits have a touchpad on the arm that allows...

  • Replacement 15' Power Awning for 2008 Keystone Montana 344RET
We have one option available for a complete 15' powered replacement awning. That is the Solera XL 12V Power RV Awning # LCV000334950-362243. This will require 78" of space on the wall from the awning rail straight down for each bracket and at least 4-1/2" of clearance between the awning rail and the top of the entry door. This awning is probably a little longer than what you have now with a 9'8" projection but that will give you 20% more shade. Alternatively, you could get the Solera...

  • How Does the Light Switch and Infrared Sensor Work Together?
I spoke with Lippert about the Infrared Security Sensor for Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awnings # LC715124 and they mentioned that in order for the infrared senor to work the light will NOT need to be in the "ON" position. The sensor should send a signal to the smart arm controller which will then turn the lights on/off accordingly.

  • Solera 15' Awning Availability As a Kit For Installing Entire Awning
Yes, we have some 15' awnings but they are not currently available as a single kit. The Solera 15' Black Fade RV Awning Roller and Fabric (Std) # LCV000211480 can be paired with either the Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC434723 or Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC759517. This will give you black awing arms and a black material that is visible when the awning is rolled up. For a white awning the Solera 15' White Fade RV Awning Roller and Fabric (Std)...

  • Can Solera Smart Arm Wind Sensor Kit and Infrared Security Sensor Both be Installed
Yes, you can absolutely install both the Solera Smart Arm Wind Sensor Kit # LC715123 along with the Solera Smart Arm Infrared Security Sensor # LC715124 on a Solera Smart Arm Assembly such as the 69 Inch # LC759517. There are connections for both of these on the Smart Arm's touch pad and they install on different areas of the arm which will allow both to be installed. I have added links to video reviews of both the infrared sensor and wind sensor for you to take a look at.

  • Can A Wind Sensor Be Added To the Solera 18V Power RV Awning
I do have an option for you but you cannot add the Solera Smart Arm Wind Sensor Kit part # LC715123 to a Solera 18V Power RV Awning. The only way to obtain the wind sensor is to upgrade your arms using the Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit part # LC759516 for 63" arms or part # LC759517 for 69" arms. These arms will not only provide you with the ability to add a wind sensor part # LC715123 but they also have an auto rain dump feature as well as the ability to add LED lights...

  • How To Convert Dometic Manual Awning To Powered Awning On 2004 NuWa Discover
To Convert your Dometic awning to an electric awning on the 2004 NuWa Discover you would need a Universal Solera 12V power conversion kit. However, the Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit - Universal - 69" arms # LC434724 will not work for the 68" space that you have. The only option that requires less clearance and will convert your Dometic awning so that you don't have to purchase a new awning piece, is Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit part # LC759404 which...

The Solera Smart Arm 12v Power RV Conversion Kit # LC759517 you were looking at can only be controlled via the included switch which will need to get installed on your RV, or by the buttons on the arm. You will not be able to re use your current remote. This kit does give you quite a few upgrades over your current system by allowing you to add on a wind sensor # LC715123, infrared sensor # LC715124, and LED light kit # LC674282. I included a few video reviews for you to take a look at.

  • Can Rain and Wind Sensors be Added to Solera RV Awning
Actually the 12 volt Solera awnings are the ones that have the ability to add the wind sensor part # LC715123 and the rain dump sensor # LC715124. You can convert to the 18 volt system if you wanted to with the # LC759404 that you referenced but those sensors are not available for it.
