Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit For 2015 Lance 1172 Carefree of Colorado Awning

Question:

Hi, We have a Lance 2015 Lance 1172 Camper with a Carefree Manual Awning that Id like to replace with a powered unit. I measured the arms from the top of the rail to the latch section below and got about 72inch so Im assuming this would require the 69inch conversion kit. I like the idea of going with the unit having he controls both inside the camper as well as on the arm so I was looking at the LC759405 model which also support the wind sensor, motion detector, etc. Ive watched a video for replacing a Carefree Manual Awning with a Solera® Universal 18V Awning, which was the closest video I was able to find. My questions are as follows 1. Is this the correct model unit for my application? 2. Does the LC759405 require two new end caps to be purchased for installation as they dont appear in the items description? 3. How dependable/effective are the accessories for this unit, and is it worth the added cost if we camp in an areas where we have unpredictable weather/winds on a regular basis? 4. Can this model be anchored down if it has the wind sensor installed? is there a way to defeat this mode if it were anchored down? Thanks

The Solera Smart Arm 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC759405 is compatible with the Carefree of Colorado Simplicity, Fiesta and Spirit manual awnings. If you have one of these on your 2015 Lance 1172 camper you will not need any other parts to complete the conversion beyond having wiring ran for power to the awing and interior switch. If you have a different model please let me know what you have.

The Wind Sensor # LC715123 is great to have if you plan on leaving your awning rolled out. It senses strong winds that move the awning. There are 3 levels of sensitivity that you can choose from and you can also deactivate it if you choose to use an Awning Anchor Kit # CAM42593 The settings are on the arm control panel so you can always check before anchoring the awning.

The Security Sensor # LC715124 seems to be a love it or hate it thing. If you are camping in remote areas it can be nice as it will activate the lights when it senses a heat signature close to your camper. This will give you a warning to any critters that may be near your camper when you open your door.
