  • Nylon-reinforced loop ends are long lasting and quick and easy to attach
    • High-tenacity nylon overlay prevents wear on the pull area
  • Heavy-duty webbing stretches additional 10 percent once taut to slingshot out stuck vehicles

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 6" wide x 30' long
  • Webbing strength: rated at 10,000 lbs per inch of width
  • Break strength: 55,000 lbs
  • Maximum vehicle weight: 27,500 lbs

Note: The weight of the stuck vehicle must not exceed the maximum vehicle weight rating of the strap being used.

If your vehicle is stuck in off-road terrain and has lost the traction it needs to escape, this recovery strap will help pull it free. The strap is designed to stretch and recoil. This means that when it is put under tension, the strap stretches until snapping back to its resting length, "slingshotting" the vehicle out of its jam.

This recovery strap has a reinforced loop at either end for securing to the tow vehicle and the recovery vehicle. Once the strap is attached, slowly move the recovery vehicle away from the stuck vehicle. This will initiate the stretch and recoil action and pull the stuck vehicle free.

Video Transcript for Erickson Recovery Tow Strap Review EM59802

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Erickson Recovery Tow Strap with the Reinforced Loop Ends. This is part number EM59802. It's a 6" wide strap. It's 30' long and has a break strength of 55,000 and a maximum vehicle weight of 27,500 pounds. These straps are going to work great to free stuck vehicles. The nylon reinforced loops are going to prevent wear on our pull area here. That's going to give us a long-lasting strap that's also really easy to connect. They heavy-duty webbing you see is going to stretch up to 10% once it's taut, to help slingshot or give us that rubber band effect, to get out even some of the heaviest vehicles that we need to free.

When our strap is not in use, we've got a nice keeper here. This is going to stretch right around the outside, line it properly and help to keep it looped up rather than rolling all around the back of our truck. We'll now bring our reinforced loop end, connect this to our recovery vehicle, lock that in position. As you can see at the other end our stuck vehicle, we've got it secured using TR63046. Now let's give it a pull and get it out of here. That will complete today's look at the Erickson Recover Tow Strap with Reinforced Loop Ends, part number EM59802. .

Works great! I bought it mostly for a recovery strap for my dually, but used it for the semi more. My only caution would be that it is designed for a bunch of weight. It doesn't stretch much at all for the dually, but worked just right for the semi. Thank you

  • Tow Strap Recommendation to Pull Down a Tree
Assuming you are cutting a notch on the fall side of the tree, you should have no problem using a tow strap, like part # EM59802 to pull the tree down. In fact, it is a good idea to use a guide like a rope, strap or chain to help ensure the tree will fall in the direction you want. You could even go with a lower rated strap, like part # H10177, since it will be acting as a guide rather than pulling the entire tree. Simply relying on gravity could turn into a guessing game when cutting...

  • How to Attach an Erickson Vehicle Recovery Strap to Vehicles without Trailer Hitches or Tow Hooks
On the one vehicle you will need to find a solid connection point like a tow hook or the vehicle frame. The more centered this connection point, the better for the vehicle. You will pass one end of the Erickson Vehicle Recovery Strap, # EM59802, around the frame and use a Tow Strap Cinch Bone, like # BC-902, to hold it in place. You could also loop the strap through itself by pulling the other end all the way through the loop. Make a similar connection on the other vehicle. Make sure...
