The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.Perfect fit as you can always count on with etrailer. The hitch installation is easy and straightforward. I was able to do this with the vehicle on the ground and one person only. The difficult part (10 of 10) is the Volkswagen challenge of removing the back bumper facia. This took a long time as it is extremely tight and very difficult to remove without breaking a tab along the way. It was also difficult to get some of the pieces back into their proper location. Give yourself time and have patience. It will work.
Very happy! Not only did my hitch arrive earlier than expected, but there was no damage during shipping. The online video explaining how to install the hitch was very helpful. Even though the video said to completely remove the bumper cover, I was able to install my hitch without fully removing it. Two thumbs up for etrailer. Keep up the good work.

the hitch is of great quality and fits the Taos AWD well, no issues there. the directions are awful! I had to go watch the video on their website to get the required details. directions say to take out 4 screws from inside fenderwell and there are more than 4. so which?
the cutout is bigger than required in the lower facia and I cut it smaller than the directions said. I think it would look better if it was a bit more focused with the alteration. the fish wires were very effective.
The hitch itself is great. I appreciate that they are giving free shipping, but the result of that is that they just throw what is effectively a giant chunk of steel in a big box. By the time you get it the box is destroyed and the powdercoat is chunked off of every corner. Spent an hour cleaning up the spots and hitting them with primer and paint.
The reciver is great, well made and fairly priced. Only issue was the install instructions were lacking in some details.

One year after installation, the hitch works well and has been everything I expected. I have used this receiver to haul a large motorcycle and a small utility trailer without incident.
