The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.Great! The hitch for my 2023 Grand Cherokee L arrived earlier than expected. The link to the installation video was essential and super helpful for the installation. The video explained step by step in detail how to install and assured me that the bumper cover would fit after the installation which it did perfectly. The installation instructions that came with the "Drawtite" hitch were not very good so glad I had the video. .
The hitch is a is a little more complicated for installation than previous hitches I've done as is reflected in the 10/10 difficulty rating but the installation video provided by etrailer made it pretty easy to do, just took a little longer. I had no problem getting the bolts in place without using the provided fishing wires. I really like how it's hidden behind the rear fascia when not in use.
The items were shipped quickly and the videos were extremely helpful with installation

Quality Product, and no drilling!
The Draw-Tite is a well made hitch; however, it does not have the receiving nuts welded to it like other hitches and that makes a huge difference on installation time. They give you threaded wire which helps get them through the holes, but having the pre-installed nuts provides for a precision positioned installation as there is play to move the hitch either more forward or backwards when it's placed into the receiving framework of the car. This makes it more guesswork as to where you should position the hitch within the car frame tube before tightening it.
Do you push it all the way forward into the tube or pull it all the way back?
I opted for pulling it back as I wouldn't want the possibility of the hitch sliding back and then grabbing by the mounting bolts if they somehow became loose over time. The other problem not noted anywhere in the paperwork is that when you insert the hitch into the car receiving frame it does not sit level and even if you hold it in place somewhat level so it doesn't tip down you are left with a gap between the underside of the trailer hitch tube and the car frame tube with no explanation on how to account for this difference. If you were to tighten it into place using the hardware and square spacers as shown in the installation diagram the hitch's final position would be slightly tilted downwards when completely installed and all six bolts were tightened. I actually used the two square spacers for the bolts going through the bottom of the hitch and placed them under the hitch to keep it level within the car frame receiving tube and then put the bottom bolts through and tightened them in place. It would be helpful to get a video up as soon as possible for this hitch and the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee as the exhaust support system is different which also created another challenge on how to secure it properly.
This hitch is heavy and has gussets in the rights spots. Fits my 2022 GC 4XE nicely and took about 2 hours to install. The hardest part is getting the bumper off without damaging it. One of the included nuts intended for the exhaust bracket was too big, fortunately I had one in my spare bin. One of my hitch pins doesn’t fit. I may have to file out the pins holes slightly. The stock hitch cover works perfectly and hides the hitch like it wasn’t there. Minor scuffing from shipping not a big deal.
I will definitely buy the mount for the wiring harness. I prefer the ease of the 7 pin connector.
