Hitch Receiver is great quality and delivered on schedule. However UPS treated it with no respect during the delivery process.It took a while to install because the drivers side arm was bent in 3/4 in. The passenger's side arm was bent in 2 7/8 in.After getting the hitch squared back it was a easy mount.Just an idea maybe if there is a brace put between the arms it may help support it during shipment. Thank you!
Looks/Feel: The hitch is sturdy, easy to install and has a nice finish to it.
Installation: I installed it with my dad's help - I held it in position while he turned the ratchet. The instructions were straight forward.
Use: I've used it with the 20x59 Curt Cargo Carrier C18151. I've loaded firewood, cooler, luggage, camping equipment, etc. I appreciate the extra "space" it provides me for carrying around additional items.
What I would change: The hitch bottoms out on some shopping center driveways - without a load. The bottom of the hitch is 10 & 7/16th inches from the ground - without a load. The tires/wheels and suspension are all stock. I feel it should not bottom out that easily. Of course, with a load, I have to be mindful of any dip.
I wish there was a way to raise it a bit more off the ground.
I needed a trailer hitch for my Mitsubishi Outlander. etrailer.com made the process easy to know if I was purchasing the right hitch for my vehicle based on customer reviews, especially the reviews including pictures. I checked around on other internet sites to make sure I wasn't paying too much. I was happy to find that etrailer.com was within $0.50 of these other websites.
It took me almost twice as long to remove the rubber mounts on the exhaust then it did for my wife and I to install the hitch and the 6 bolts. The good part was that I know that I would have to remove these rubber exhaust mounts before I started, and was prepared.
I have a small trailer for towing canoes and kayaks, and a 4 X 8 low wall trailer. I will also be using it for a bike hitch mount. I have three bike racks.
The product shipped to me overnight which is very impressive! I couldn't believe that I had it so quick. As far as installation, they have a great video on-line on how to install however they show you how to do it with the car on the lift and one other person assisting. If you are going to try to install yourself without a lift it can be done but good luck. You may be better off bringing it to your local garage and have them do it. While the hitch came in the box with no damage, it appears that this may have been a return because one of the areas was scratched up pretty good. Since it is in an area that isn't seen I'll live with it. If not for that I would have rated 5 stars.
A solid frame...(will see if holds to my expectations)...but overall its sturdy and with nice crafmanship it fits well to my Outlander. Thanks etrailer for the easy and fast delivery. Can't give you 5 stars for now because I still need to test the hitch..but your close to that already.
Gave a review that was in error. I stated certain electrical parts were not included. However, they had been put away, probably by me, and with my wifes assistance we put in the electrical in about 20 minutes. Everything was just as promised. I called tech support to ask best way to route wire. He was very helpful and made installing very simple. Thank you for a great product.

Hitch has been useful many times and even withstood the weight of the whole vehicle as it was being loaded onto a flatbed truck!
This is my second Curt hitch on my second Mitsubishi Outlander GT; the first hitch and GT were destroyed in a vehicle accident by someone not "driving properly". etrailer had this hitch at a very competitive price and shipment was super fast. The hitch arrived in a large box, but was not tightly secured; parts of the hitch were protruding from the box upon delivery and had been deeply scratched. I painted the scratches before installing, but etrailer should know by now that a loose heavy object in transit is a recipe for possible damages. Curt's instructions are good and etrailer's video is very helpful, but I must say that installation is possible by one person (I've done it twice now - by myself). if you do the installation solo, get the vehicle up on ramps, take your time, remove the spare tire, back out the bumper bolt and contrive a way to hold-up one end of the hitch (box, jack, etc) while you bolt-up the other end. Taping the retaining nuts to a socket with a drive extension simplified parts of the installation. This hitch hangs a little lower than the factory hitch, but at less than half the price it's well worth it. The first hitch performed well and I expect the same from this one. All-in-all, I'm satisfied with Curt and etrailer and would do business with either, or both, in the future.
This is my second purchase from etrailer.com. The first one was a trailer hitch for my 2012 Toyota Corolla. The installation did not take more than 15 minutes and the electric another 20. All instructions were clear and great. This time I bought a trailer hitch with T-connectors for my 2014 Mitsubishi outlander. The product is great, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The product is good quality, all hardware were included. The installation time was much longer this time, but that is due the the car design and not the hitch design. In fact the hitch was designed around the car's exhaust system, and even though I had to lower that for the hitch installation, still at the end everything fit very well.
Watched the installation video a couple times. The hitch went on exactly as described. it took me about 4 hours (including the electrical harness) to do. That was from getting it out of the package to completely cleaned up. I was on the garage floor so that slowed me down because of the confined space. Only real problem I had was locating the .25 inch plates. They were not in the box of parts. I eventually located them taped inside the receiver part of the hitch. I plan to use it for small trailers and bike racks. I have not done that yet but I expect that will be fine.
Fast delivery easy to install. But it dint work out that way I was hoping. For my bike rack. It only got one lack hole and I couldn’t adjusted. It will show in the picture wha i mean. Thanks
Works great. Because I had to drop the muffler I had a friend install the hitch. He did it with ease as he had a lift and power tools.

We had a friend help install it and it was super easy to do! It got us literally across the country (California to Florida) and half way back (Florida to Kansas) again!!! It's a sturdy product that did it's job perfectly and I'm so happy with it! The price was fantastic, too! Especially considering how expensive hitches can be!!! You guys saved us a lot of money and stressduring a BIG move. Thank you!!!

After one year of using the hitch on my wifes 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander, it is still working excellent. We made made our share of trips and it holds the cargo tray well. Good stuff.
Could not be any happier with my trailer hitch equipment. Best price of all 7 places I got quotes from and the delivery, scheduled for 2 weeks from purchase, came 4 days after purchase on-line. My mechanic installed it this morning and said it was exactly the right product for my car. Thanks so much!
The hitch has to be little bit shorter. On cool California roads I am touching the paving by it :o(
Otherwise it is ok - works well for me. We sometimes travel with bikes rack.
Service and delivery were excellent. The actual curt hitch, although quite functional and not difficult to install, was a little disappointing as it was not as hidden as much as I hoped. I realize that it was somewhat necessary to enable access to the spare tire but I would had it more hidden even if it meant not having access to the spare. Flat tires are rare today if properly maintained and the "donut" tire is rather useless.
After moving the spare tire and exhaust out of the way this was a easy install. After pulling a trailer halfway across the country right after installing I still have no complaints looks and works perfectly.
This product was great. Easy install and great fit. Only issue was that delivery was poor. Carrier handled the product badly so the paint was scratched on the hitch. Need to pack the hitch better in the box with foam or secure it better.
Good quality, good looking, good installation instructions. Put one on my friends SUV also. Very helpful to have, I use it for my bike rack mostly. Easy to take on and off too!
Great product , good instructions and bolts up smoothly. Only issue was with the shipping company, that does not handle with care; as the hitch shifts within the box, puncturing holes and damaging the paint. I had to re-paint several areas where it was dragged across rough surfaces.

I am happy with the quick service that I received from etrailer.com. The person I spoke to ( Diane ) was really great to work with and very pleasant. My only complaint is the condition of the package when I received it. It was funny how the delivery person placed the extremely torn up side against the house, I wonder if that was the attempt to hid how bad it was torn up? Other than the torn up box, everything else was great.
