The unit is well built! It is heavy and strong. I installed it myself in my garage with minimal hassle. I didn't remove rear tires, spare or drop the exhaust pipe. I did need help to lift the hitch ball assembly into place and bolt it up. Good product.

- Draw-Tite Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation Kit for a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Short BedGooseneck trailer hitch installation kit # 4457 is designed for certain 2010 and newer Ram 2500 and 3500 series trucks. It is not a fit for your 2003. The installation kit by itself for your 2003 Ram 1500 is # 4438. But these are just the installation kits, not the whole gooseneck hitch and installation kit. For hitch and install kit you can use # 9464-38, # 8339-4438, or # 6300-4438. I have also included a link to all of the gooseneck and install kits that will fit your truck.
