Manfacturing quality could be better - chain loops welded on crooked - visible to the eye (ongoing issue with Draw-Tite as I've had this on others from them). Packing is poor - ends/attach points poking through the box and scratched up. I've order a few receivers here - always the case. Plan on doing some touch-up painting before installation.
Adam was not packaged correctly. Box broke open in several places middle parts exposed and sticking through. No way to know if all the parts are still inside the Box due to numerous holes. Will try and do inventory tomorrow when I attempt the install.
My 2nd order from etrailer. Will knew of the best inconspicuous hitch available for my Rav4 along with the trailer light kit. Fantastic customer service even asking if I needed anything else since my SUV was new. He mentioned a few things and I ended up ordering great mud guards that mounted up without tire removal. Between YouTube videos and printed instructions, we got the hitch, wiring and mud guards installed fairly quickly. A great experience and I will be back.
Just finished the install on my 2023 Rav 4 hybrid, looks great, I think I'm glad it went with it over Curt but I'm sure they're comparable. I installed it myself as a 43 year old guy with little mechanical experience, in my driveway with no lift or ramps, and while it's doable it's not for everyone. I would suggest a partner. Whether you have help or not, start by getting the jack out of your trunk if you have one and, once your rack is in position (guiding the wings around your exhaust on both sides is where a helper would really be handy), center the jack under the hitch to give it some height on a pivot while you get the bolts lined up. If you have extreme trouble with one particular bolt as I did, you may also find it handy to then move the jack to that end and lift it so as to align the hole in the hitch over your weldnut without having to rely on one arm's strength while you're fumbling with the bolt and turning a wrench with the other. Honestly if I had it to do over I'd probably take it down to a shop and pay them to throw it on. There are some out there that probably wouldn't even charge you, especially if you're a regular.
Well built and fits great on my 22' Rav4. Only complaint is the paint quality. Not sure if they used any primer, as some of the paint came off during shipping. Then some more came off where I rested the hitch on a jack to lift it into place when installing. I had to apply primer/paint to the bare metal to prevent rusting in the future.

The product arrived on schedule. I read the instructions and got my tools out. I ordered the exhaust hanger removal tool. This was a great less than $20 investment. I have never removed the hangers with such ease. Everything went as planned as I got the two top bolts into the hitch. Then there was a problem. The hook installed on my 2020 RAV4 did not allow the hitch to swing all the way up to put in the final two bolts. See the pictures. I had to go find the right socket and remove hook. Then I was able to complete the installation. The hitch cannot be installed with the factory hook on the passenger side. Hopefully I'll never need the hook. The hitch frame can probably serve the same purpose as it could be used to tie something down.
I was disappointed with the way it was shipped. I was not home when it was dropped off at my house. When I saw it when I got home the flanged of the hitch was sticking out of the box and the flange was scratched up. There was a hole in the other side of the box but the other flange was not sticking out. On the back of the box there was a hole with the hinge starting to protrude. I purchased in 2020 a hinge also and this one came with holes in the box and flanges sticking out! That time I sent that one back and had another sent. This time, I will just touch up the scratch areas.

Travelled across the country with this hitch supporting a bike rack with my two price possession bikes on it. Have checked to see if I need to tighten it down at all, but it is all set and the perfect hitch. As others have said, the container was in rough condition but the receiver and parts were intact. The installation went exactly as shown in the etrailer video. I can use my boat again!
I received the hitch Wednesday and installed it Thursday morning. Installation went great everything fit perfectly. I’m totally satisfied.
Did not go on in twenty minutes as the video suggested(probably thirty-five minutes) but was very easy and fit perfectly.
I received my order two days earlier than what was anticipated. After the hitch was installed I tried it out for a two day getaway. Worked like a charm. Very well pleased and satisfied. The associate who helped me was/is a pleasure to worked with. She answered all my questions not only about the receiver hitch, but about other products as well. Yes I will do my business with them again.
watched the video and ran wire exactly as shown. the lights and hitch have been working ever since.
Ordering process was excellent. Shipping was fast. Product fit was very good but as others have said the finish had multiple chips and scratches.
Fit perfectly without having to remove the muffler. My wife and I installed it in less than a half hour. It looks solid and came on time and the package was undamaged.
I watched the video. It was very helpful. Although this is really an easy job with a little help from a second person I was able to install the hitch myself on the floor of my garage. A second strap to help hold up the hitch made it work.

The product has work out well. In retrospect, Having purchased a larger bike rack for a different vehicle I would have gotten a 2 receiver.
On time can’t wait to star hauling
This looks like a well made product, That being said the packaging and shipment were terrible. The hitch was packed in a box that it fit into without any packing material. It came to my house with three areas of the box open and the edges of the hitch exposed. The three areas exposed were missing paint and will need to be touched up. I have not installed the hitch yet.

We purchased this a year ago for our 2019 RAV4 to accommodate our bike rack. It is serving us very well - solid and reliable. I also appreciate etrailer.com's customer service as they helped me identify the right hitch receiver for my new vehicle back when I was researching that. I would defintely recommend this Draw-Tite hitch AND etrailer.com!
This is my fourth hitch purchased from etrailer in the last few yrs and it has been a great experience each time. Shipping is very quick and the installation videos are amazingly helpful for a non skilled average Joe such as myself allowing me to do the installs. Hitch does a good solid job hauling my 50 lb bike rack carrying two 50 lb e bikes.
Hitch receiver has not been installed yet on my 2020 RAV4 but I will assume it can be installed properly and that it will work properly similar to the hitch receivers that I bought from etrailer in the past when I had different vehicles. Note that one end of the hitch receiver was protruding extensively through the shipping box when UPS delivered it. The driver said that "this happens all the time during shipment of these things". I could envision that the heavy metal of which the hitch receiver is composed and especially the end that was sticking through the shipping box could do damage to other boxes and the items they contain on the UPS truck. Paint was rubbed off at one spot on it so I assume it did articulate with something else during shipment. Maybe you (etrailer.com) need to think about packaging it better so that it does not end up potentially damaging other items and boxes during shipment.
The hitch was received a bit scratched up but that wasn't a huge deal to me but something to note if you are a stickler. I was able to ask my partner to help me install it and he used the help of his brother and sister to get under the car and help him lift the hitch up and secure everything in place. A year later and its still on nicely and intact and I have no complaints. Wish I could post a picture but I cant find my phone at the moment, but this is a real review if that makes you feel better. This was applied on my RAV4 LE 2021.

What I recommend is touching up the affected areas with a rust resistant paint which you will then have on hand for regular hitch maintenance.

Bought the hitch and accessories exactly 1 year ago today. At that time it was on a half price sale and free shipping so it was it was a steal. Shipping was very prompt. Cost me a six pack of Southern Pecan beer to get two buddies to install. They spent a lot more time drinking beer because the installation was so simple (after they removed the tie down bracket used for the vehicle’s trip from Japan). The hitch and accessories are beefy, and fit and operate flawlessly.
I would not hesitate to buy this hitch from etrailer.com if you are looking for one for your RAV4.
