Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a bolt on tractor trailer winch. This winch can be used on a flatbed truck or trailer to secure a strap over your load. It works with winch straps up to four inches wide and it does require a winch tightening bar for operation. That is sold separately. It inserts on this side over here. On this side we have the lever and gear that holds the strap in the secure position.
To release tension you just need to disengage the lever and that it allows it go back to free spool mode. Then to engage, flip it back and then it keeps that unit from back feeding or releasing tension. This is a bolt on winch so it's easy to install. Comes with installation hardware. The bolt on design allows you to position the winch where you need it. This allows you to position the strap points to optimize securing the load.
We're looking at nice durable steel construction with a nice powder coated finish on it to resist rust and corrosion. Now when it comes to the overall dimensions I took a measurement from edge to edge and got a width of seven and 3/4 inches. From very bottom to very top of this plate right here was seven and 1/4 inches tall. The overall depth front to back and three and a 1/2 inches long. Now this gap right here where I'm placing my finger in from the top of this plate to the bottom of this plate, that has a measurement of 5/8 of an inch. From the back of this plate to the front of the plate, so this space right here measures an inch and a 1/2 deep.
The plate edge to edge measures about four and 1/2 to four and 9/16 of an inch. The mount holes on the unit are separated on center by three and 1/4 inches. The working load limit is 5,000 pounds. That number is engraved right here on the side plate of the winch. The mandrill diameter, that's the diameter of this portion, that is one and 15/16 of an inch. And then each individual winch bar hole right here measures 15/16 of an inch in diameter. That's going to do it for today's look at the bolt on tractor trailer winch..
