Something's definitely off with your Konig Easy Fit chains part # TH04115250 if the release tabs won't allow the chains to release. I've installed these and removed them several times over the years and there isn't any secret or trick that you have to do to get the buttons to release/press. It sounds like something is binding up in your case though so I don't know if you can try pulling on various parts of the chain setup to release whatever tension is built up that would allow the buttons... view full answer...
