Both the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness # 118409 and the Hopkins Plug-N-Tow Wiring Harness # 42615 will work on your 2000 Jeep TJ Wrangler Sport. The difference is what you mentioned, how they install to the vehicle.

Starting with the trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75193. This Class III hitch is confirmed to fit your Jeep and will use existing holes in its frame for a no-drill installation. It will provide you with a 2 inch receiver opening and has a 4,000 pound towing capacity (although you will still need to stay below the 3,500 pound limit for the Jeep).

Most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

I recommend adding Air Lift Lock-N-Lift # AL52440 spacer kit to the AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs # AL60811 as it lets you add air springs to your lifted vehicle. It will work with vehicles with up to a 4 inch lift.

I do have a couple of options for you, however I checked with my contact at Blue Ox and unfortunately there isn't a way to use the Adapter Lugs # BX88357 for your 2001 Jeep TJ Off-Road Bumper with a ReadyBrute Tow Bar.

There are tow fgreat choices for adapters and it will all come down to the diameter of the hole in the D-ring. For a 1" hole use the Blue Ox Aftermarket Bumper Adapter part # BX88358 and for a 7/8" hole diameter use the Blue Ox Aftermarket Off-Road Bumper Adapter part # BX88357.
