I may have a solution to help you better secure your kayak on the crossbars, but there is not an available eyelet that can be mounted on the Curt # C18118 since there are not channels on the bars. It sounds like maybe you don't already have a kayak carrier, which would provide the best possible solution to secure kayaks to your roof rack. I recommend using the Curt J-Style Kayak Carriers # C18320, which will mount to the Curt roof rack bars on the # C18118 and comes with 2 tie down straps... view full answer...
I took a look at the online copy of the owner's manual for a 2015 Jeep Cherokee and it can be flat towed so long as it is a 4-Wheel Drive and has a 2-Speed Power Transfer Unit so you will need to contact the dealer to find out if this Cherokee has those features.
If it is a 4WD with a 2-speed transfer case there are a number of parts you will need, starting with vehicle-specific base plates. I'll list all the parts you need:
- Base Plate Kit: Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519308

I do have an option for you but the Demco Tabless base plate kit # DM9519340 does not have a compatible rock guard at this time. I recommend Roadmaster Crossbar-style base plate kit part # RM-521451-4 with the Roadmaster All Terrain tow bar part # RM-522. You will also need safety cables part # RM-645.
For a rock guard you can use Roadmaster Guardian Rock Guard # RM-4000 which mounts on the tow bar or you can use a hitch-mount adjustable mud flap system like Rock Tamers # ERT00108 which... view full answer...
I can help you with all the parts you will need to flat-tow your 1999 Jeep Cherokee. To flat-tow your Jeep Cherokee, you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, lighting or wiring, safety cables, and a supplemental braking system.
There are a few options for base plate kits on the 1999 Jeep Cherokee that can vary in price but all will work just fine on your vehicle. I would recommend the Roadmaster Classic Base Plate Kit, part # 1418-3. The # 1418-3 Kit will fit all models of the 1999 Jeep... view full answer...
To connect a Roadmaster Sterling All-Terrain tow bar # RM-576 to a set of Blue Ox # BX1110 base plates you are correct that you will need RoadMaster Sterling Tow Bars to Blue Ox Brackets Adapter # RM-031-5. This kit will work as long as your tow bar serial number is above 14,501.
The tow bar and base plates are just two of the components needed for safe and legal flat towing. The linked article covers these and the other items required, which include a wiring/lighting solution and a supplementary... view full answer...
Virtually all U.S. states and Canadian provinces require that a towed vehicle be equipped with a supplemental braking system of one type or another. Even if you happened to be towing in an area where one was not required my guess is that only a few miles would be required for you to see the merits of a toad braking system!
Supplementary braking systems come in many forms. There are purely mechanical systems and portable/wireless electronic systems like the outstanding Blue Ox Patriot #... view full answer...
Assuming you already have the # RM-522 Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain tow bar that you'd looked at, you'll also need a base plate kit, safety cables if you don't already have them, a wiring solution, a supplemental braking system and possibly a high/low adapter if the installed base plate has a greater than 3 inch height difference from the height of the receiver on the vehicle you'll be towing your Cherokee with.
For base plates, I'd recommend the Roadmaster # RM-521452-5 which fits non-Trailhawk... view full answer...
The item you selected, Adapter 4 Way Flat to 6 Way Square for Jayco, part # 30104 may work, but the wire functions may be incorrect, and would require you to wire the adapter by function using circuit tester, part # PTW2993.
I would recommend changing your vehicle and trailer wiring to 6-Way Round. For your Jeep you will need, Adapter 4 Pole to 6 Pole and 4 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter, part # 37175. Then, for your trailer, you will need Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Connector... view full answer...
You'll need a tow bar, base plates, safety cables, wiring for the taillights, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high/low adapter if the installed height of the base plates has a height difference compared to the motorhome hitch greater than three inches. I'll link to an article that shows how to measure for the height difference, along with a listing of our available high/low adapters.
For a tow bar, I'd recommend the Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain tow bar, part # RM-522 along... view full answer...
According to Blue Ox, because the Patriot # BLU37TR is self contained, a separate connection to the brake stop lamp switch isn't necessary, as opposed to the Roadmaster # RM-9400 which would need a stop lamp switch installed. view full answer...
You can install a 7-way in your 2000 Jeep Cherokee but there is no plug-in harness for this vehicle, you are going to need to add a number of parts.
First you need to add a 4-way, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118354 and I have linked a video so you can see how this installs on a '00 Jeep Cherokee.
From there you are going to need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will give you a 7- and 4-way adapter (this... view full answer...
There certainly is!
As long as your Cherokee has the 2 speed transfer case with a Neutral position, it can be successfully flat towed. FWD vehicles would need to be towed with a tow dolly like # DM9713093, and 4x4 vehicles with a 1 speed transfer case need to be trailer towed.
Assuming your Trailhawk has the 2 speed transfer case, you'll want to use the Blue Ox # BX1143 base plate kit.
You'll also need a few other items to complete your flat towing setup:
• Blue Ox Alpha 2 tow bar,... view full answer...
