The fit kit has rubberized trim that fits to the contours of your roof and the legs attach to the kit, becoming the weather seal. The Thule Hullavator Pro, part # TH898, requires some amount of the crossbar to extend past the feet. It needs to be between 4" and 8". The factory crossbars on your 2019 Mazda CX-5 don't seem to have this extension.
Instead, I recommend using the Malone SeaWing with Load Assist, part # MPG113MD. It's a rear-loading carrier as opposed to the side-loading Hullavator. It doesn't have the gas struts, but it greatly eases the burden of lifting the kayak.

Of the trailer wiring harnesses available for your 2016 Mazda CX-5 I lean towards the Tekonsha # 118563. While we have not yet (October 16, 2023) confirmed the # C13315 to fit the 2024 models, I believe it is safe to assume that it will carry over to 2024, since the # C12170 has been confirmed. Both hitches use the same configuration for the side flanges, and both install in the same location.
