Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the Taylor-Made Dock Post Light. This is going to have a motion sensor and a solar panel to make sure that you always have light when you need it. So it'll allow you to mount this up on a post. So you want to have some light kick on whenever you come close to that. It detects motion up to 30 feet away, which is pretty good range.

And it senses that in a 180 degree semicircle around the light, so should be pretty good as far as the range and detection there. It does have a lithium battery that comes with it. So if you live in an area where it's cloudy sometimes, and then sunny other times, it's kind of nice that you have that battery backup. So it can store that power from the sunny days to be used on those less sunny days. To turn it on, just a little switch on the back.

Itdoes come with a couple screws and anchors to mount this in place and got a couple of little holes to slide this on, to get it mounted up. So let's take a closer look and I'll turn this guy on. So that's what it looks like whenever it's turned on. That's going to be the bright function. We give it a few seconds.

It'll go to the dim function where it's just barely illuminated, and it takes about 30 seconds to a minute for that to dim down once it doesn't detect any motion. So let's give it a minute here and kind of start to see it dimming down, and there it goes. So just barely visible, and bring my hand around. You can see I just barely got around to the side and it kicked on again.Unfortunately, I don't really have a good way of testing out the range as far as distance for that with just me in my studio. But I'll try to get my hand out a little bit further.

Adjust it again, so we'll just wait for that to dim down. It does seem pretty responsive. So as soon as it detects that motion, kicks right on, really don't have to wait that long for it to pop back up. So, bring my arm up. Okay. And it already got me. Couldn't even see it on the screen, but it does seem pretty sensitive to any kind of motion, even in the dark here. Whenever it's at its dimmest, it's about 10 lumens at the brightest. As we see it here, that's about a hundred lumens. So it should give you a good amount of light to see what's going on. As far as the size, about four inches by five. And up here at the widest portion, about three inches. The distance between those two mounting points center to center is about two and five, or excuse me, two and five-eighths.
