These steps have a simple twist handle to unlatch and fold down the steps. There are pull pins in the hinge of these steps to allow you to remove the steps when in close quarters that won't allow for the steps to fold down. I will say having tested these out that the pull pins are in pretty tight and might be a bit of a challenge...
