Can Spring Seats be Put on Opposite Side of Axle For Lift
Question:
Why cant you put saddles on opposite side to achieve lift

You can put the spring seats/saddles on the opposite side of a round, standard straight axle to achieve lift, and to do this you would need what is called an over/under kit. The correct fit will depend on the diameter of your axle:
- 2-3/8" Axle: Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00
- 3" Axle: Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00
This moves your trailer's leaf springs to the top of your axle and lifts your trailer approximately the same amount as your axle's diameter plus the height of the leaf spring pack. Just keep in mind that this will only work for trailers with double-eye springs.
