The CURT Trailer Hitch # 13650 and # C13651 are very similar. The 13650 has some additional hardware and updated instructions that make it compatible with the 2012 Ford Escape. The 13651 hitch only includes up to 2011 on the Ford Escape. The other difference is that the C13651 will fit if the vehicle has a factory 1-1/4 hitch already installed.

Both require no drilling or welding and include the compete hardware along with installation instructions.

There are two differences between the two hitches you mention. The Curt hitch is constructed of round tubing, and the Draw-Tite is made of square tube stock. Secondly, the Curt warrantly states that a stabilizing strap like # 18050 needs to be used for extra support for non-trailer loads. This can be a hassle on some vehicles, especially hatch backs or vehicles with spoilers/wind diffusers.

I can answer that question for you. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2", part # C23FR (13454), is compatible with all versions of your 2022 Ford Escape. even the hybrid. We no longer carry the other trailer hitch. It was not compatible with the Ford Escape Hybrid.

I looked in the owner's manual for your 2016 Ford Escape and towing options are discussed around page 185. If you have a front-wheel drive Escape then you can use a tow dolly like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly, Item # RM-2050-1. When towing with a tow dolly, make sure the front wheels are off the ground and securely attached. If you have four-wheel drive, you will need to tow with a car carrier.

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e56AR is the same as the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13650, the only difference is finish. The etrailer hitch has a matte finish and the Curt hitch has a glossy finish. Both the # C23FR (Curt 13454) and the CU56FR (Curt 13436) are fits for a 4th generation Ford Escape, however the CU56FR which isn't a fit for the popular Escape Hybrid has been phased out in favor of the redesigned # C23FR which DOES fit the hybrid.

This system draws power directly from the battery which means it will support more lights on the trailer and it since it is using a separate power source it will not damage the vehicle light circuits in case of a short or excessive power draw.
