Hitch Comparisons for a 2009 Ford Escape Limited 4wd
Question:
Hi Can you tell me the difference between these hitches? Curt C12060 Draw Tight 36501 Application is a 2009 Ford Escape Limited 4wd. I plan to use the hitch for a bike rack only. Thanks.

There are two differences between the two hitches you mention. The Curt hitch is constructed of round tubing, and the Draw-Tite is made of square tube stock. Secondly, the Curt warrantly states that a stabilizing strap like # 18050 needs to be used for extra support for non-trailer loads. This can be a hassle on some vehicles, especially hatch backs or vehicles with spoilers/wind diffusers.
Since the Draw-Tite hitch doesn't have that requirement, I'd recommend going with the Draw-Tite. Other than that, both hitches have the same capacity and would install in the same manner. Quality-wise, I'd consider the two brands to be equal.
I've linked you to videos showing both hitches being installed on a 2009 Ford Escape.
