Assuming your surfboard is no more than 31" wide the SeaSucker Surfboard Carrier # 298-BX1806 is the only real option. I can understand any hesitation to mount your surfboard with suction cups but they have a pull strenght of 1,260 lbs so they aren't going anywhere. Their demonstration video attached below does a great job showing this as they lift up the vehicle by the rack.

Yes we do! We actually came up with our own install kit specifically for this purpose, the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This will come with everything needed to take the existing 4-flat plug and upgrade it to a 7-way. It will also include all of the necessary wires for an electric trailer brake controller like the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty # RED52VR.

That sounds pretty sketchy. Never heard of a conversion kit with bolts that will make a hitch fit a car it's not designed for.
The hitch you were looking at Item # 306-X7267 only fits the 2015 - 2018 Subaru Outback so using different sized bolts isn't going to help when the holes don't line up. You can install the Mighty Cord Trailer Connector Adapter # A10-7084VP and cap off the blue brake controller output wire with some electrical tape since the Prodigy RF will not be connecting to it. This system detects deceleration and activates the brakes accordingly and the remote gives you the ability to read errors and manually activate the brakes.
The yellow wire on the # A10-7084VP can also be capped off with some electrical tape unless you need a reverse light signal.... view full answer...

Welcome back! I have a couple of options for a wiring harness but it depends on what model your 2010 Subaru Impreza is. From what I can tell the Outback Sport model is a hatchback so if that's the case you'll need the 5-Door Wagon option but wanted to list both.

Hey Danny, so the Thule T2 XTR bike rack part # TH69TX weighs 96 lbs (lets just call it 100) and then it has a 160 lb weight capacity so at most it would weigh 260 lbs. So since basically all 2 inch hitches have at least a 350 lb tongue weight capacity you wouldn't need to get too worried about that aspect of the hitch.
