Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2024 Subaru Forester Carrying 4 Bike Thule T2 Bike Rack
Question:
Good morning! I am considering this bike rack for a 2024 Subaru Forester that does not yet have a 2” hitch on it. What is the hitch tongue weight necessary for this rack? I am hoping that the Subaru dealer can install the correct hitch.

Hey Danny, so the Thule T2 XTR bike rack part # TH69TX weighs 96 lbs (lets just call it 100) and then it has a 160 lb weight capacity so at most it would weigh 260 lbs. So since basically all 2 inch hitches have at least a 350 lb tongue weight capacity you wouldn't need to get too worried about that aspect of the hitch.
For that I really like the Curt hitch part # C47HR for 2024 Subaru Forester as it has the needed capacity and also has a mostly hidden appearance since only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper.
