How to Carry Surfboard on 2024 Subaru BRZ

Question:

I have a 2024 Subaru brz and want something to get my 66inch surfboard to the coast. I live in the desert and crazy winds up to 70+ mph. 2 1/2 hour trip at 70-75 mph. Suggestions? No way to attach around doors or windows. Thanks

Assuming your surfboard is no more than 31" wide the SeaSucker Surfboard Carrier # 298-BX1806 is the only real option. I can understand any hesitation to mount your surfboard with suction cups but they have a pull strenght of 1,260 lbs so they aren't going anywhere. Their demonstration video attached below does a great job showing this as they lift up the vehicle by the rack.

If you're still worried about trusting your surfboard to a carrier stuck onto the top of your car with suction cups in high winds while driving down the highway there may be one other possibility but it isn't something I can offer here. It looks like Yakima wants to make a roof rack for the BRZ but they need someone to bring the vehicle into their Oregon facility. I'm not sure how far that is from you but you could contact them and see about setting that up. More than likely they will at least let you have the rack for free if you do.
