  • Can Main Body Assembly be Reversed of Curt Universal Trailer Hitch on 2003 Ford Windstar
  • I took a look at the directions of the universal-fit Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13900 and as you can see by the accompanying cut out of the linked installation manual, on Ford vans you can reverse (turn upside down) the main body assembly of the hitch in order to get more height.

  • Which Brake Switch Wire should be used for a Brake Controller on a 2002 Ford Windstar
  • The only way to be completely sure of which wire you need to connect to is to use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993. Check to see if the light green wire or the red wire goes hot when you press the brake pedal. You want to use whichever of these two wires goes hot, only when the brake pedal is pressed. I believe on your van, it may be the light green, but use a circuit tester to be sure before completing the wiring.

  • Yes, you will need to run separate wiring for both connectors. You will need to install the wiring for the 4-pin connector, part # 118305, with its own power wire to the battery. Then, you will need to install the wiring for the 7-pin connector, part # 30717 with its own power wire. This is done to protect the vehicle power and wiring system. You will want to check your owner manual of your vehicle to check and see when the vehicle was manufactured. If your 2003 Ford Windstar was manufactured...

  • The Dutton-Lainson 4-Foot Roller Bunks, part # DL21754, can be mounted directly to the 2 x 4 bunk boards on your trailer using hardware of your choosing. My contact at Dutton-Lainson advised that the choice of nuts and bolts versus screws is not critical so long as the rollers are firmly secured. I took a few measurements of this part for your reference and to help you select hardware. These measurements are shown on the attached photo. The interior channel for mounting the roller bunks...

  • Locating Reverse Light Circuit on 2000 Ford Windstar
  • You are wanting to tap into the reverse light circuit on your Windstar for the reverse lights on a trailer or for the reverse lock-out on a boat trailer, is that correct? The circuit feeding the reverse lights on this vehicle is pretty easy to access. Remove the tail light assembly on one side as if you were replacing a burned out bulb (being careful not to break the tab on the outboard side). The green connector in the assembly is for the reverse light, you can easily access the circuit there.

  • Parts Needed to Install a P2 Brake Controller in a 2003 Ford Windstar
  • There isn't a brake controller harness for a 2003 Ford Windstar so the controller has to be hardwired into the vehicle. After the 4-Way is installed, or if the van already has one, you will need to use the 4- and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. This provides a 7-Way, retains the 4-Way, and...
