Should Nuts and Bolts or Screws Be Used to Mount Dutton-Lainson 4-Foot Roller Bunk

Question:

In the video the gentleman says to screw the hardware then bolt to the bunk boards... looks like the mounting hardware is not included if I want to mount directly to boards... can you recommend sizes of bolts or screws or make a hardware kit to go with the rollers.. thanks

The Dutton-Lainson 4-Foot Roller Bunks, part # DL21754, can be mounted directly to the 2 x 4 bunk boards on your trailer using hardware of your choosing. My contact at Dutton-Lainson advised that the choice of nuts and bolts versus screws is not critical so long as the rollers are firmly secured.

I took a few measurements of this part for your reference and to help you select hardware. These measurements are shown on the attached photo. The interior channel for mounting the roller bunks to your trailer boards measures 1-7/8 inches wide. The individual bolt/screw holes measure 3/8-inch in diameter. You can select your preferred hardware to be compatible with these dimensions. If your boat is used in salt water I suggest stainless steel hardware, but this is a good choice in any case.

Please note that we also offer the Dutton-Lainson Deluxe 4-foot Roller Bunk with sets of three rollers, part # DL21740. These 12-gauge galvanized steel bunks offer a universal-mount design that can be affixed either vertically or horizontally. I have linked a video on this item.
