On your 2009 Acura TL a converter is indeed required so it appears the Technician was not truthful.
A converter is required when vehicles have separate wiring meaning the brake light and turn signals are sent along different wires.
Since trailers use combined wiring in which the brake light and turn signal are the same wire a converter is needed.
For your vehicle I recommend the Hopkins # 46255 which plugs into the existing connectors on your vehicle and uses its own power wire that... view full answer...
It sounds like you are looking for a trailer hitch and related towing parts to pull a trailer with your 2004 Acura TL.
We do offer light-duty Class I hitches for your car and all can be seen on the linked page. The one I suggest for the best appearance on the car (in other words the hitch that will be least visible) is the Curt # 11321.
The recommended ball mount for this hitch is part # C45521, and with it you can use either 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # A-80 or 2-inch ball # A-82. For... view full answer...
All of the trailer hitches for your 2004 Acura TL are Class I hitches with 1-1/4 inch receivers. There is an adapter to go from a 1-1/4 to a 2 inch, # HTAD. However, the use of an adapter reduces the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent.
So if you had hitch # 24755 it is rated for 200 pounds tongue weight. The use of the adapter reduces that down to 100 pounds. If the carrier weighs 30 pounds then you are left with just 70 pounds you could carry on your cargo carrier.

I have a solution for you, but I checked with Yakima and the Quickback part # Y02622 that you referenced is not confirmed to fit your 2003 Acura TL so I cannot safely recommend it for you.
Instead I would recommend the Thule OutWay 3 Bike Rack part # TH56BV.
What makes this rack far superior to the others is the attachment system. It uses 2 retractable coated steel cables to attach to the vehicle rather than 6 nylon straps like other racks. This makes installation quick and easy and the... view full answer...
Since you are concerned about voiding the warranty of your TL, I recommend checking the towing section in your owners manual if you plan on installing a trailer hitch to tow a trailer. Honda states that the Acura TL was not designed for towing and doing so could void the warranty. That is something to keep in mind before installing a trailer hitch or trailer wiring harness.
If you want a wiring harness because you will be carrying a hitch mounted cargo carrier with additional lights,... view full answer...
I checked with Thule and the OutWay, # TH45JV, is listed as a fit for all models of the 2011 Acura TL. A spoiler is only going to be a problem if it interferes with the rack installation. No part of the rack, including the retractable cables on the rack, are allowed to touch (put any weight on) the spoiler. If any part of the rack does then you cannot use it. Thule does not test the racks on models with spoilers so they cannot guarantee fit.

While you could use a Class I compatible 4 bike rack like # TH9025XT in the hitch on your 2005 Acura TL, you would be limited to 2 bikes when using the rack. This is because vehicles with Class I hitches can be damaged by the weight of the bikes being placed to far away from the back of the vehicle. The amount of torque that is applied to the hitch and vehicle frame is increased substantially as weight is added farther away form the vehicle. The only benefit would then be the ability to... view full answer...
As a large portion of the hitch will be visible below the rear bumper fascia, I would recommend the Curt Class I Receiver hitch, part # C11496. The hitch crossbar is constructed of round tubular steel, instead of the square tube like the other hitches. Many (myself included) find that the round tube looks better and seems to be less visible.
On the other hand, if you do not mind the appearance of the square tube, the Curt Receiver, part # C11496 would be a more economical choice, as you... view full answer...
For your size tire on your 2005 Acura TL, the highest quality tire chain that is a confirmed fit is the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link, # TH01221100, that you referenced.
These Konig chains use a high-quality manganese nickel alloy steel construction that will help resist corrosion and take the abuse of travel on snow and ice covered roads.
The Konig chains are Class S compatible chains, which your 2005 Acura TL owner's manual recommends.

The Rhino-Rack Universal Load Assist - Crossbar Mount - Side Loading - 132 lbs, # RR-RUSL, is a universal fit that will work with standard square crossbars. In the installation details, which I've attached, you will simply use #4 for Clamp A and #5 for Clamp B and will use the inner holes for both.
For your 2002 Acura TL, The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack, # SR1002, is a confirmed fit that uses standard square crossbars. This rack will allow you to use the Rhino-Rack Load Assist.

To secure a ladies bike with a step thru style frame to the Swagman Original 4 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches # S64675 I recommend using a bike adapter bar. The Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005 will create a top frame rail between the handlebars and seat post to allow your bike to ride level on a haning style rack.
I also recommend using the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks w/ 2" Shanks - 8-1/2' Long... view full answer...

I would recommend the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part # PW1038, which are SAE Class S tire chains. You will also want to use Glacier Rubber Adjusters for Class S Snow Chains, part # PW100 as tensioners for part # PW1038.
You will want to mount the snow chains on the powered drive wheels of your vehicle, on your TL you will mount the snow chains on the 2 front wheels.
I have linked 2 FAQ Articles on snow chains, one of which outlines the snow chain laws for each state. I have also... view full answer...
For your 2013 Acura TL, I recommend the Yakima CoreBar Roof Rack System. The bars themselves are part # Y00421. They are heavy-duty (made from steel) and quiet (aero-style). They'll be able to handle the weight of kayak with no problem. I've linked to a video review of these bars for you to look at.
The other parts needed for this system are:
BaseLine Towers - part # Y28TR
Two BaseClip Fit Kits - part # Y06162 and part # Y06181
For the kayak carrier, I recommend the Malone FoldAway-5,... view full answer...
I looked up the towing capacity of your 2008 Acura TL and found it can tow up to 1,000 lbs so with a hitch installed like the Curt # 11321 you'd be able to tow your jet ski trailer as long as it's under the 1,000 lb capacity of the vehicle.
For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # C56231 which is a custom fit. For a ball mount you'd then want # 3594 and hitch balls # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or part # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. view full answer...

The K-Source Panoramic Mirror, Part # KSRM012, is intended as a universal fit item that will fit a majority of original equipment mirrors. If the rear view mirror of your Acura TL is between 2-1/8 and 2-7/8 inches tall and no thicker than 3/4 of an inch, the K-Source Mirror, part # KSRM012, will fit.
Please refer to the attached photo which illustrates the back side of the mirror and its spring-loaded mounting clamps. These clamps expand from 2-1/8 to 2-7/8 inches.

The Draw Tite hitch part # 24755 is a confirmed fit for your 2004 Acura TL and would work well to carry a bike rack. Since you like the support of the platform bike racks (I don't blame you), but like the weight of the hanging bike racks I have the perfect solution for you!
