  • Will the Curt Trailer Hitch # 14250 Stick Out from Rear Bumper on 2004 Dodge Sprinter
  • Although we have not install the Curt # 14250 Trailer Hitch on a 2004 Dodge Sprinter 3500 as of yet, I was able to go out to the warehouse and find that from the forward-most mounting hole (towards the front of your Sprinter) to the end of the hitch receiver opening is about 19-1/2 inches. If you compare this measurement with the mounting hole location on the underside of your Sprinter you can estimate about where the hitch will sit.

And existing holes in the frame will need to be enlarged to 1-1/8 inches. As far as promoting rust, the hitch is powder coated steel, and is corrosion resistant.

  • Slider Hitch Or Sidewinder Recommendation for a 2014 Ram 2500 with Hitch Prep and Short Bed
  • Yes, either a slider hitch or a Sidewinder would be required for your 2014 Ram 2500 with a short bed to make tight turns and clear the cab of your truck. Between the two options I would recommend a Sidewinder. You will need to remove the pin box of the trailer and replace it with a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have know in order to pick out the correct one. There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box...

  • How To Install A Prodigy P3 Brake Controller On A 2004 Dodge Sprinter Van
  • On the 2004 Dodge Sprinter Van if you have a factory tow package there will be a 7-way trailer connector on the rear of your vehicle that would be installed from the factory. If you have a 7-way at the rear you will want to make sure it is a factory installed 7-way and not an aftermarket installed connector. Also, with the factory tow package there will be a brake controller port located under the drivers seat. It will be a wiring harness with a green connector on it. The harness should...

  • Trailer Hitch for 2006 Dodge Sprinter, 118 Inch Wheelbase that Doesnt Require Modifying Step Bumper
  • Your 2006 Dodge Sprinter with 118 inch wheelbase and step bumper should look like the one in the picture I have included. The hitch does fit models with the factory step bumper. You will not have to modify the vehicle at all to install the hitch. The only special step is to snap off a corner of the included spacer plates (for models with step bumper only). The plates are designed for this. I have included a link to the instructions and a link to a video showing installation for you. The...

  • Which Wire is the Stop Light Wire on a 2007 Dodge Sprinter
  • Due to the varying wire colors between manufacturers and model years, I do not have any information on the specific wire color. The wire you need to tap into will attach to the cold side of the brake switch. The brake switch is located at the top of the brake pedal. We recommend using a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, to probe the wires coming off of the brake switch until one is found that only shows current when the brake is pressed. This will be the wire you need to tap the red...

  • If your 2005 Dodge Sprinter Van with 158 inch wheel base has dual rear wheels and factory step bumper, you will need to remove the step bumper support brace on the passengers side only. This installation can definitely be done by an individual, especially someone who has experience installing hitches. You will not need to remove/relocate the spare tire for installation of the hitch. You may want to consider the following items to complete your towing setup: etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit,...

  • Brake Controller Installation on 2003 Freightliner Sprinter
  • To install the 7-way and brake controller, you'll need to install the # C59496 and the # ETBC7 brake controller install kit as you mentioned. There isn't a plug and play aftermarket option, I'm sorry to say. The good news is that the # C59496 does offer circuit protection to isolate the vehicle's wiring from any short circuits that could occur in the trailer wiring. The installation may look involved, it it's pretty simple if you're fairly handy and have a rudimentary knowledge of vehicle...

  • Brake Controller Wiring on a 2007 Dodge Sprinter
  • I do not have any information about what color the correct wire for the 2007 model is, on the 2006 it was a red and black wire. You can easily use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to locate the correct wire. One of the 4 wires will only show current when the brake pedal is pressed. This is the circuit you will want to tap into.

  • Will Installation of Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Require Relocation of Spare on 2003 Dodge Sprinter
  • The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13250 will only require spare tire relocation if you have the 118" wheel base model. If your 2003 Dodge Sprinter has the 140" or 158" wheel base you will not need to relocate your spare tire. The picture you saw was on a model where the spare could remain in place. If you do have the 118" wheel base model, there is not a trailer hitch offered that will allow you to keep your spare tire in the factory location. The only option would be to mount it in a...

  • Can the Active Suspension # RAS3620-E be Used to Restore Ride Height to a 2005 Dodge Sprinter
  • The RoadActive Suspension # RAS3620-E helps to support your current suspension so depending on how bad your rear springs are sagging it may restore some of your ride height, but they most likely won't restore your 2005 Dodge Sprinter to the exact same height as you need. If your springs are bad enough that there is noticeable sag without a load then you really need to get them changed out. This kit may be more cost-effective but it is really meant to be used with a suspension system that...

  • Explanation of Mirror Image Capability For Rear View Safety Backup Camera System 2007 Dodge Sprinter
  • The Rear View Safety Backup Camera System # RVS-816619N-NM will allow you to toggle between mirror image or normal image. With mirror image the image would be just like looking through your rearview mirror. So the left side of the mirror would show what is on the drivers side of the vehicle. In their normal mode the image would be as if you were standing behind the camera. This means the right side of your screen would become the drivers side of the vehicle.

  • Does the P2 Brake Controller Stay Powered On All the Time
  • The P2 brake controller # 90885 goes into a power saving mode after about 15 minutes of inactivity. While in power saving mode it draws only a few milliamps of power and at that rate the vehicle would have to sit for months for it to drain the battery. If the brake controller does not go into power saving mode then it is sensing something such as a short and could stay on all the time. The most likely culprit to cause this is corrosion in or on the trailer connector.
